How Consignment Works

CONSIGNMENT HAS BECOME A POPULAR WAY OF SELLING SLIGHTLY USED HOME FURNISHINGS. HERE IS HOW CONSIGNMENT WORKS AT THE NEW 2 YOU CONSIGNMENT SHOP


WHAT DO WE ACCEPT? 

Furnishings accepted for consignment must be new or gently used, high-quality, classic furnishings in very clean and working condition. This is to keep the selection and quality of our consigned furniture and accessories high. All items sold "as is". Types of items considered are night stands, dining room tables and chairs, china cabinets, buffets, pictures, signs, antiques, kitchen tables and chairs, hutches, bedroom sets, headboards and frames, dressers, chest of drawers, coffee tables, end tables, desks and credenzas, bookcases, sofas, chairs, ottomans and footstools, entertainment centers, lamps, sofa tables, artificial plants, decorative mirrors, clocks, rugs, vases, table and bookcase decor, candlesticks, floral arrangements, framed artwork and more.

WHAT WE DO NOT TYPICALLY ACCEPT: 

Kitchen items (some unique items we will accept), clothes, lawn equipment, electric appliances, non-assembled items,  pianos or organs, hardware tools, grills, toys, baby items, sheets, broken items, ivy decor, glassware or dishes (we will only accept full sets of dishes that are in style today).  We reserve the right to reject any item(s) for any reason at any time.  When in doubt, just call or email us.

HOW DO WE MAKE MONEY?  

It's a 50/50 split of the actual selling price. We post every picture of every item on Facebook and have over 7600 facebook followers.  I know there are other shops that offer a bigger percentage but I promise you that they don't have the following that we have worked so hard to build.  Your items will sell quickly and we will stage them in an awesome way.  We pay you for all of your items sold on the 25th of the following month.  We now are computerized and you will get an email every time an item sells. So start going through your home and find all of the Home Furnishings and Decor that you are not using and start making some money.

HOW DO WE PRICE THE ITEMS? 

The resale price of your consigned Furnishing(s) will be discussed with you, however, we have the sole discretion to determine the final price at the time of accepting the consignment. Every effort will be made to fairly and profitably price your items based on a number of factors including condition of the item(s), quality and brand name and going market rate for comparable merchandise. By consigning with us, you acknowledge that New 2 You Consignment (by its owners) is not a certified appraiser of Furnishing(s) or antiques.

HOW LONG DO WE KEEP THE ITEMS? 

We keep most items for sale for 30 days. We will call you if we need you to pick up items that have not sold.

ARE THERE PRICE REDUCTIONS? 

After the first week or so, we will have a price reduction.  Our items sell usually in the first 3 days.  This is why we have a high and low price on your items.  

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER 30 DAYS IF THE ITEM DOES NOT SELL? 

After 30 days, we will call you and have you pick up your item.  We ask that you pick up your item within 3 days.  If merchandise is not picked up within 7 days of reaching you, it becomes the property of the store and will be donated to a charitable organization or disposed of at our discretion.

DO YOU NEED AN APPOINTMENT TO BRING IN ITEMS? 

No, but remember New 2 You Consignment reserves the right to reject any Furnishing(s) for any reason at any time.   We have to be selective on the items we take in as we only have so much space.   For bigger items, we ask that you call us to make sure that we have room for your item(s).  There are some occasions where we need to wait a little while to accept certain items due to space.  Items sell very quickly, typically you would only have to wait a week before we have room for your item(s).

HOW MANY ITEMS CAN YOU CONSIGN?
